Bassenettes are back in Manhattan

The Bassenettes will be back at Metro 53 on Wednesday October 14th starting at 7:30pm. Metro 53 is on East 53rd st. just east of 2nd avenue on the north side of the street. This is currently the only known date that The Bassenettes will be playing in Manhattan this year. I will be making some phone calls to some people from the Tripple that don’t have email/web access. If any of you out there know anyone that does not have access to the TRIP site or emails please do the same. I am hoping that they get another gig in December so we can get together around the holidays but it can’t hurt to come by on Wednesday just in case that does not happen. I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to seeing those who come to the show.

Photos from Metro 53

Shannon has sent me some photos of the last gathering.  You can find them HERE.

Tripple Gathering 2009

I finally have some time to initiate a gathering of Tripplers.  It looks like a good and appropriate time may be on Wednesday, February 25th at Metro 53, 307 E. 53rd St.  The reason I say appropriate is because it also happens to be the night that The Bassenettes return to Manhattan after several years.

The band starts playing at 7:30 which is a little earlier than they used to start on Wednesday nights at the Tripple but we are all a little older now and probably appreciate the earlier start a little more.  It gives us time to hang and chat before the music starts if we meet around 5-5:30pm.

Information on the place can be found at Metro 53.  There is no cover charge and they have a kitchen.  Yes, it is on the East Side and traditionally we have met on the West Side but maybe this will accomodate some of us better for once.  Tell a friend and hopefully we will see you there.

Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I have posted anything.  I had some server configuration issues that were preventing the site from working properly.  I just moved the site to a new server and hopefully everything will be fine now.

Things have been busy this holiday season so I never go around to planning a holiday party.  I will get right on it after the new year after everyone has settled down a bit and hopefully we can all get together in early January.

The Bassenettes will finally be back in Manhattan after several years on the last Wednesday in February at Metro 53 located at 307 E. 53rd. St. starting at 7:30.  You can join the mailing list at http://www.bassenettes.com to keep informed about Bassenette events.  Ahhh, the late Wednesday nights (and Thursday mornings) at The Tripple rocking to The Bassenettes.  Good Times.

Anyway, everyone have a safe and happy holiday season and a very happy New Year!!!

Christmas in late July

Hello everyone.  D. Cook is in town and we are having a hang for some Summer T.R.I.P. Fun.  When: Tuesday July 29th.  starting between 5 and 6pm.  Where: The House of Brews on the south side of 51st street just West of 8th Avenue.  I am sorry about the last minute notice but I had some technical difficulties and was unable to post until now.  I made some frantic calls this weekend when I realized that the post did not make it to the front page but I can’t call everyone.  Spread the word if you can and we hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Andrew

Happy New Year!

2008 is here and I think it is about time we get together to celebrate the last year and the one ahead of us.  We wanted to organize something during the holidays but with the flu running around and general holiday madness it never materialized.  Now that it is behind us maybe we can get a gathering into gear.  I am going to suggest Friday the 18th. of January at “The House of Brews” at 302 51st Street just west of 8th Avenue (212-541-7080)  starting between 5 and 6pm.  The have around 80 different beers from around the world and they serve food.   It is a nice space with room to hang by the upstairs bar.

There are a lot of Tripplers that have not registered for this site so they need a shout to find out about it.   If you know of anyone that used to TRIP please give them a call and let them know.  I hope to see as many of you as possible.  I was unable to make it to last years holiday get together and I am sure some of you will not be able to make it this year but rest assured we will keep the Tripple Spirit alive in person or from afar.

Rubble

Well, it has finally happened.  Ye Olde Tripple Inn has been reduced to rubble.  There was a point last week where you could see inside the Tripple from 55th St. since the back wall had been removed.  Not long after that the rest of the walls were removed.  There is a void in our hearts and at 263 West 54th. Street.

A Toast, who am I kidding, many toasts.

There will be a gathering at Rumors Tuesday June 25th starting around 5:30 pm to raise our glasses to John Hartnett.  Rumors is located on the west side of 8th Avenue between 55th and 56th street.  I apologize for the late post.  I actually entered it on Sunday but forgot to hit the ‘PUBLISH’ button and did not realize it until today.

John and myself have hoisted a few in memory of friends that have passed at the Ye Olde Tripple Inn.  I am sure many of you have as well.  Now it is time to do the same for John.  It was an honor to know him and it will be an honor to toast him.  I already miss you deeply, John.

Let’s try this again.

The Bassenettes are going to be at the A&M Roadhouse on Friday April 20th.  This time I don’t think we have to worry about having to cancel the show because of the weather.  It’s just a couple of blocks away from the Chambers Street Subway Station.   I hope to see a lot of Trippers there.
